How to Create the Perfect Kids’ Bathroom in Jasper and Loogootee

How to Create the Perfect Kids’ Bathroom in Jasper and Loogootee

A bathroom of their own: it makes perfect sense, don’t you think?!

If you have kids you know sharing a bathroom with them on a daily basis can be a real challenge. From toothpaste splatters on the mirror to toys in the tub it can be quite exhausting trying to share this space. If you’re lucky enough to have the extra space, creating an extra bathroom just for them could be a great solution. Not only can you reclaim your space but you can create a new fun and friendly space they can call their own.

Here are a few ideas you’ll want to consider before you take on such a project:Create the Perfect Kids’ Bathroom
  • Choose a Theme They Will Love. Together with your child, choose a character theme such as their favorite cartoon or Disney character, or you can simply choose a general kid-friendly theme. Kid favorites include animal, beach, circus, or dinosaur themes.
  • Use Kid Friendly Materials. Kids can be “tough”! Be sure you choose bathroom fixtures, accessories and decorations that are durable and able to withstand the wear and tear of kids.
  • Be Colorful & Creative. Let your child’s imagination run wild. Choose lots of fun design elements and bright colors that they are sure to love.
  • Make it Safe. Choose a sturdy step stool and add non-slip grips and grab bars to ensure little ones stay safe and sound. That goes for non-slip mats to keep little feet firmly planted on slippery surfaces, too.
  • Make Storage & Clean up Easy. Include plenty of storage baskets and bins, hooks and floating shelves to provide a place for everything, and everything in its place.
  • Remember “Kid Level” for Artwork & Accessories.

Keep in mind this bathroom is for children so be sure hooks and other hanging accessories and storage are placed at a kid friendly heights. This goes for any artwork, as well, which should be hung at their eye level.

There’s no need to spend a fortune on this project, either. Simple brightly colored rugs, towels, toiletries and shower curtain are often enough to transform any bathroom into a children’s paradise. Best of all think of this project as a great opportunity to work together with your child while bringing out his or her creativity.
