How to Celebrate Father’s Day in Knox & Pike Counties, IN

Celebrate Father’s DayDads come in all shapes, sizes, and types.  Some, for example, work hard all day to support their families while others stay home to raise their children. Some are masters of manicures and tea parties while others are kings of the batting cages.

For everything he does, and everything he is, that special dad in your life deserves to be celebrated this Father’s Day.

Here are a few simple, but meaningful, gift ideas to make this Father’s Day the best one yet.

Get crafty with the kids.

Everyone loves a gift that comes from the heart, and dads are no exception. Skip the store-bought greeting card and have the kids make him a special Father’s Day card. Or how about a one-of-a-kind piece of art using the kids’ handprints? Maybe even create a family photo book or collage.

Give dad the day off.

Let him sleep in, make him breakfast in bed, and give him the day off from household chores. Let him nap on the hammock or relax on the recliner. Who wouldn’t love a little down time?

Pamper him.

Massages and manicures aren’t just for moms. Treat him to a spa day and watch the stress just melt away.  Most spas offer treatments tailored toward men, including facials, deep tissue massage, and gentlemen’s pedicures.

Interview the children.

Write out a series of questions about dad and interview the kids. Ask anything from “What is your favorite thing to do with dad?” to “What is his favorite thing to eat?” He’ll love seeing himself through the eyes of his children.

Plan a day around his interests.

Is he a DIY dude or a sports fanatic? Does he enjoy reading or would he rather spend the afternoon rocking out to a live band? Think about his interests, hobbies, and passions and plan a day around them.

Whatever you do, we hope you make this Father’s Day one to remember.
